The event held at the College of Insurance will see delegates, exhibitors, investor partners and innovators from various countries participate.

In his address during the event, Ruto pledged to transform the annual event which is in its third year into an international festival.

The theme of the week-long is "Innovating to unlock our commonwealth".

"We will enhance the funding of our national innovation agenda from 0.8 per cent of our GDP to 2 per cent of our GDP," he said.
