City evangelist pastor Victor Kanyari has said that his late sister Starlet Wahu tried reaching out to him before her death.
Kanyari said unfortunately he did not pick up Starlets's call that night.
He spoke on Sunday to his congregants as he narrated what had transpired to them.
"Ilipofika saa nane usiku, aliamua kunipigia simu lakini sikuichukua. Nadhani wakati huu mwanaume yule aliitisha dada yangu pesa, labda akakua resistant na wakaanza kupigana kule ndani," Kanyari narrated.
The pastor said Starlet was a tough-headed person and after being attacked by her murderer, she must have tried fighting him.
He said after she had been stabbed, she was left locked in the house where she lost her life as she struggled to get help.
"It is a sad story. Ni vibaya sana ukiona watu mtandaoni wakiongea vile wanaongea but it is okay," she said.
Detectives on Sunday asked women who may have been victims of assault and extortion by the suspect linked to the murder of the socialite to provide information for further probe.
A team has been set up at the Regional Criminal Investigations Office in Nairobi to receive the complaints linked to the suspect.
“The DCI appeals to any victims and survivors of the suspect's animosity, to formally report their ordeals at Regional Criminal Investigations Office in Nairobi or the nearest police station,” an appeal released Sunday night read.
This is after it emerged the suspect may have been a serial killer and was in the blackmail and extortion business.
Wahu's body was discovered on January 4 morning on the fourth floor of an AirBnB in Nairobi's South B, after the watchman reported seeing the male suspect flee with bloodstained clothes.
The owner of the premises who had let it out to Starlet and the man for a night used a spare key to unlock the house, which had been locked from the outside, only to stumble on the horrifying scene of the deceased's body sprawled on the floor.
