The late socialite and Instagram influencer Starlet Wahu's brother Pastor Victor Kanyari has defended his late sister after going out on a date where she met her death.
The pastor said Starlet just like any other girl was also looking for love and a man.
Kanyari was narrating the story to his congregants on Sunday.
"Walikua na pombe na wakaenda kwa room ya kulala. Yeye aliona ni mtu ambaye anampenda. Sioni makosa yake kwa sababu yeye alikua anatafuta mtu wa kumdate na ni normal," he said.
"Yeye aliona mtu anayempenda na akaona naye anaeza mpenda akaamua kumove naye bila kujua kwamba yule mtu ni muuaji na sio yeye wa kwanza."
Pastor Kanyari however said that the only mistake his sister made was believing a stranger.
He said Starlet believed the man.
The pastor further said that he saw no wrong in Starlet taking alcohol as they both lived different lives.
He said Starlet was a lover of life and was never into the church like he is.
"Dunia ya leo unaamini watu na baadaye wanapanga vile watakumaliza. Sioni makosa yake kunywa pombe, kuitwa date. Yeye kwanza hajaokoka mimi ndio nimeokoka. Yeye ni mtu wa raha kutoka zamani. Hata watoto wangu wanaeza fanya vituko namna hiyo maana mimi ndio nimeitwa kama prophet na sio hao," Kanyari said.
He told his congregants that everyone has their dark days and losing his sister was his.
Pastor Kanyari further said that it is through his sister's death that the suspect has been exposed.
"Huyu mwanaume sijamwona. Kwa sababu dada yangua anajulikana naye bas hata huko jela hatawahi toka," he said.
Wahu's lifeless body was found in an Airbnb in South B, Nairobi.
A postmortem examination of her body showed she was strangled and had a deep cut wound on her leg in the thigh which had cut her vein.
The autopsy said she had also lost a lot of blood leading to her death.
