Kenya Railways has migrated its payment services to the e-Citizen platform in compliance with the President’s directive.
In a statement on Friday, Kenya Railways advised the public to ensure that any payments are channeled through the government single paybill number 222222.
Those using both the commuter service and long-distance safari train services will be required to enter KRCC – "your name as the account number then enter the amount they are paying."
“We hereby notify the public that payments for all Kenya Railways services shall be made through the e-citizen platform in line with the presidential directive,” part of the statement read.
“Please note that tickets must be purchased at the station of departure and that each service has a unique account number,” it added.
For terminal services, those at Nairobi will enter NRKP – BTS number as the account number, MALT-BTS number as the account number and MKTM – BTS Number for the Makongeni terminal.
For parking services, KR has advised that those making payments for services at Nakuru Parking will key in NKRP – number plate as the account number.
Railway Training Institute (RTI), students who want to pay for their tuition fees will be required to log in to the student portal, select financial, payment and follow the process as guided.
Those paying for restaurant services at the institution will enter RTIK- First name as the account number for Kilimanjaro and KSMR – First name for Kisumu Marine.
For outside catering you will be required to key in KRCC- First name as the account number, NRBR – First name for purchase of meals and NKRR-First name for Nakuru restaurant services.
For entry to the railway museum and hiring of facilities, you will be required to log on to the krc.ecitizen.go.ke, select museum and follow the process as guided.
