Agriculture and Livestock Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi has alleged that Aldai MP Marianne Kitany is the person behind the motion for his dismissal.

Linturi’s lawyer Muthomi Thiankolu told the Select Committee on the proposed dismissal of the Cabinet Secretary that it is Kitany and not Bumula MP Jack Wamboka who is behind his client’s ouster bid.

“The mover of this Motion is the Member for Aldai,” Thiankolu insisted.

Kitany and the Cabinet Secretary were once in a relationship before they parted ways.

Wamboka sponsored the impeachment motion, which the National Assembly approved on May 2.

Linturi is facing three charges od alleged gross misconduct, a gross violation of the constitution and committing a crime.

In his submissions, Thiankolu told the Naomi Waqo-led committee that the second charge was brought by the differences between Linturi and Aldai MP.

“They are personal disputes between Linturi and Aldai MP. The million dollar question is; how did mover of motion make the difference between the two as the core basis upon which allegation of number two is based?” Thiankolu added.

He said all court cases between the two have been ruled in favour of his client.

“Someone lost court cases at the high court of appeal, all magistrates’ courts and then made this cases the basis for charge number two,” he added.

He added that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations probed allegations by the MP against the CS and forwarded the files to the Director of Public Prosecutions who said they were closed.

“DPP closed all these matters on May 31 last year,” he said.

Making his submissions, Wamboka has told Linturi to keep off Aldai MP in the impeachment saga.

While making his case to have the CS impeached before the 11-member special committee, Wamboka said it was unfortunate that the CS had invoked the MP in his response letter.

"I have looked at the responses by the CS and it is nothing short of a love letter by a jilted lover," he said.

"These are grave matters to be reduced to lover matters," he said.

"Ukiachwa achika," he remarked.

Wamboka said it was unfortunate for the CS to keep on dragging her into every matter yet she has her own family.
