Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has reaffirmed his commitment to assisting the president deliver on his mandate.

Gachagua acknowledged the vision that President William Ruto has in transforming the nation noting as leaders under him, they will continue to support him.

"Your Excellency, you are the vision carrier of our administration and those of us you have given the privilege to serve under you remain committed and focused to assist you in the transformation of our country," he said.

According to the DP, this is the only way they can ensure Kenyans get better lives and have their economic fortunes improved.

Gachagua made the remarks during the Madaraka Day celebrations held at Masinde Muliro Stadium in Bungoma.

This year's theme was "Agriculture and Food Security".

The DP has lately become a punching bag for his opponents within the Kenya Kwanza over his "one man, one shilling" principle.

There have also been claims of a cold war between him and the president.

While speaking Friday at Kwa Mbira in Limuru, Gachagua urged Mt Kenya region to unite and expose political traitors who are being used by opponents to divide the community ahead of the next election.

He also emphasized the importance of unity for the region's growth and prosperity.

"We must shame our traitors, our unity is the only thing that can save us and if we fail to unite the region, will suffer the consequences," Gachagua said

Gachagua further committed to traveling across the region to engage with leaders and promote unity.

"We must learn from the past and speak with one voice. I will not allow our community to be divided by our enemies," he asserted, underscoring that the unity of the region is paramount.

He also urged former President Uhuru Kenyatta to forgive those who wronged him in 2022.
