New batch of KDF constabularies graduate from School of Infantry in Isiolo

They will be deployed to various services, formations and units of the KDF

A new batch of Defence Forces Constabularies (DFC) on Thursday graduated from the School of Infantry (SOI) in Isiolo.

DFC is an auxiliary support staff unit whose core function is to maintain security, protection and orderly regulation of all public establishments and of public property within the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).

The ceremony marked the successful completion of a six-month rigorous basic military training.

The constabularies are set to be deployed to various services, formations and units of the KDF.

Deputy Army Commander Major General Mohamed Nur Hassan presided over the event.

In his address, Hassan emphasised the importance of observing KDF’s core values which are professionalism, remaining apolitical, civil prerogative, patriotism and loyalty.

“The Kenya Defence Forces has a history of valour and sacrifice that the nation of Kenya is proud of," he said.

"Being new members of the Force, you shall be expected to uphold the traditions and values that traditionally define the institution,” he added.

The event also saw both the recruits and instructors who performed exceptionally on matters discipline, specialised skills, marksmanship, sports and drills during the course awarded.

Also present during the pass out parade include SOI Commandant Brigadier Pascal Kitiro, senior officers, service members and graduands’ families.
