Mombasa businessman now wants the Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome to help him get access to his property claiming that he was forcibly evicted.

Speaking to the media in Mombasa, Madhubuti, the director of Lamu Marine and Allied Product Limited, protested the alleged eviction saying he owns the multimillion property since 1983.

The property is valued at Sh200m.

According to the businessman, an official search for the suit property at the Ministry of Lands proved he was the owner of the contested property.

"I have been illegally evicted from my property. They took me away and began to intimidate me. They also deployed goons and put them on our property," Madhubuti said.

Aggrieved Madhubuti questioned why some police officers were used during the eviction yet a search conducted by the police showed he was the bona fide owner of the property.

He claimed that the police confirmed at the land registry the property in question belonged to Lamu Marine and Allied Product Limited.

"I won the case in September 2023, the Court of Appeal ordered that the suit property be recovered by Lamu Marine. Suddenly, they came and broke my locks and evicted me," said Madhubuti.

"I want the director of investigations to take my file from Makupa Police Station," he said.

He also appealed to the national government to intervene on the matter and help get his property.
