Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga has lauded Harambee Stars after their goalless draw against Ivory Coast.

This is after Kenya's national football team, the Harambee Stars, secured a goalless draw in their 2026 World Cup qualifier against the reigning African champions, Ivory Coast.

The match, held at the Bingu Stadium in Lilongwe in Malawi on Tuesday, captured the attention and admiration of the former prime minister.

Raila took to X to express his pride in the Harambee Stars' performance.

He commended the team's passion and effort, noting their well-deserved result against such formidable opponents.

"Our Harambee Stars displayed amazing passion and tenacity in Malawi, securing a well-deserved 0-0 draw against African Champions Ivory Coast. Proud of the team's spirit and tenacity!" Raila stated.

This result marks a significant achievement for the Stars, making them the first team to snatch a point from the Elephants, who had been riding a three-game winning streak in Group F.

Kenya currently sits in position 107 in the men's Fifa World ranking whereas Ivory Coast are placed in position 38.

Earlier, Kenya played to a 1-1 draw against Burundi on Friday.

Kenya still sits third in the group with five points behind Gabon who have six and leaders Ivory Coast with 10 points.
