CS Owalo meets health workers ahead of Nyanza conference

ICT and Digital Economy CS Eliud Owalo early Thursday held a working breakfast meeting with doctors and health professionals in preparation for the inaugural Nyanza International Investment Conference.

The conference will be held at the Ciala Resort in Kisumu from June 28-29, 2024.

The conference aims to discuss the development priorities of the Nyanza Region, aligning with the County Integrated Development Plans.

“We look forward to the valuable contributions and collaboration of all participants as we prepare for a successful conference,” Owalo said.

The doctors were led by veteran medical practitioner and lecturer, Joseph Aluoch, and acting Director General for Health, Patrick Amoth.

Also present were former Kenyatta National Hospital CEO Meshack Onguti, head of Professional Standards and Human Resources for Health at the Ministry of Health, Hezron Omolo, head of Regulations and Legislation at the ministry Angela Nyakundi, Omondi Ogutu, Boniface Osano and Loice Achieng from the University of Nairobi, Julliet Omwoha from Ministry of Health and Barclay Onyambu from Nairobi Hospital.

Others were KMPDU chair for Nyanza region Onyango Ndonga; head of Technical Operations, Kenya Biovax Institute, Rabera Kenyanya; founder, Oasis Medical Centre, Dedan Ogonga; Jacinter Modi from Kenyatta National Hospital, neonatologist Peter Gisore, Serah Mumbi and Patrick Nyamohanga from Maseno University, gynaecological oncologist Gabriel Ouma, Vincent Orinda and Agatha Olago from Ministry of Health among others.

Nairobi Hospital CEO James Nyamongo was also in attendance.

The NIIC organizing committee was led by chairman, Japh Olende, along with Michael Monari, Amos Omolo, Vera Manduku, Omondi Ogada, Zilpah Owich, Ambassador Grace Okara, Esther Mayaka, Jane Oriya, Ken Mohochi, Ken Onditi and Archie Alai.
