The Embassy of Ukraine in Kenya has issued a safety advisory for its citizens ahead of Tuesday’s protest against the Finance Bill 2024.

The Embassy in a notice shared through their official social media pages warned Ukrainian citizens to avoid the city centre.

The embassy's message, conveyed in both Ukrainian and English, called on the citizens to exercise caution and vigilance.

"Dear citizens, in connection with the possible holding of protests in Nairobi from June 25 to 28 2024, are advised to refrain from visiting the city centre," it advised.

"Be vigilant when in places of significant gatherings and closely monitor Kenyan law enforcement information regarding security," it added.

The Embassy has further urged its citizens to reach out on hotline number, +254110099133 or through an email [email protected], for assistance in case of life or health threats.

The protests in Nairobi are a public response to the Finance Bill, which has sparked widespread controversy and opposition.

The bill has been criticised for its potential economic impact, and citizens are mobilising to express their dissent.
