Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has directed all students who sat the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) to collect certificates from their respective schools.
The examination body said the certificates have been dispatched to schools where candidates sat their 2022 exams.
“The 2022 KCSE examination certificates for all eligible candidates have been dispatched to schools through their respective sub-county director of education offices. Candidates and parents/guardians are hereby requested to collect the certificates from their institutions at the earliest opportunity” KNEC said on X.
KNEC said those with queries should be submitted online through the Query Management Information System (QMIS) and must reach them no later than 30 days after the release of the certificates.
“Queries about examination results/certificates must be made t within thirty (30) days after the date of dispatch and will attract a fee of Sh5,000.00 payable through the Paybill number generated by QMIS after verification of the application submitted. Certificate queries submitted in hard copy will not be accepted,” said the examination body.
Candidates who have not submitted passport-size photographs by the time of printing will not be issued with the document, KNEC said.
Details that must be counter-checked by examination centre managers before the issuance of the certificates to owners include accurate centre and candidate’s names, school code; and candidate gender.
They should also check the quality of printing (that the certificate has no smudged or faded print; and is in good condition), embossing of the hologram and the candidate's passport-size photograph.
The centre managers must ensure the passport-size photograph embossed on the candidate’s certificate is the same as what was submitted to KNEC during the registration of the candidate.
Examination centre managers must ensure the number of certificates delivered is as indicated in the checklist provided for each examination centre and for all candidates who qualify for an award of the certificates.
The centre managers are required to indicate discrepancies in the acknowledgement form and forward it to KNEC through the SCDEs’ offices.
