I'm grateful to God! Gituro says after being sworn as Machakos chief officer

The new Machakos chief officer for Public Communication Joyce Gituro has expressed her gratitude to Governor Wavinya Ndeti for her handing her the role in his government.

Gituro was sworn in Monday following her appointment her nomination and subsequent vetting by the county assembly.

In a post, the former radio presenter was also thankful to God and her family and friends for the support.

“I have so much to say about this appointment but for now allow me to thank the Almighty God for His mercies that are new every morning, Hon Wavinya Ndeti for believing in me, my dear daughter and two sons for loving me always, my immediate and extended family members for being there and for ALL my friends for being very very patient with me. Indeed let the Lord lead the way to my new territory,” Gituro said.

The swearing-in ceremony followed a successful vetting and approval exercise by the County Assembly of Machakos.

The ceremony, attended by Governor Wavinya Ndeti also saw two other chief officers take oath.

They include; Francis Munyambu (Inspectorate and emergency services) and Dr Juliana Ndunge (Sewerage, Sanitation and waste management).

"I take the opportunity to wish them the very best, God's guidance and wisdom as they serve the great people of Machakos County in fulfilling our Clarion call Chakula Mezani, Pesa Mfukoni," Governor Ndeti said.

Their appointments were gazetted by the governor on June 21, 2024.

Gituro worked at Royal Media Services for more than 15 years, having started as an On-Air Host and went on to grow through the ranks to become Transmission controller at Radio Citizen and later on Brand Manager.
