Former Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter has revealed the questions he was asked by detectives following his arrest on Sunday.
Keter who was addressing the press Monday after appearing at the DCI headquarters claimed he was put to task to explain about the relations he has with retired president Uhuru Kenyatta.
The name of the deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, he alleged, also featured during his questioning.
“They asked me about my relationship with Uhuru Kenyatta and the current deputy president...and issues to do with arms from Congo,” he said.
Terming this as a move to gag those vocal against the government, the lawmaker, however, insisted he will continue to speak about it.
He alleged that his arrest was mainly due to the concerns they have been raising that are currently facing Kenyans.
“Don’t intimidate us into silence, we know the issue is all about the concerns being raised by Kenyans on finance bills, cost of living and the many promises they made,” he said.
“We did not make them to make those promises but the problem with them is that they always lie, we are not the problem,” he added.
But, he maintained that he would allow the case to go as per the law.
Keter was arrested as he left a church event in the Kileleshwa area, Nairobi.
His family was with him at the time of the incident and could be heard screaming for help.
He was booked at Kamukunji Police Station and later released pending forensic analysis of exhibits.
His release followed the intervention by the Law Society of Kenya President Faith Odhiambo among other leaders.
The file is set to be forwarded to the ODPP for direction.
