Major roads in Nairobi were on Tuesday closed as demonstrations continued across various areas of the City.

Waiyaki Way and Mombasa Road at Mlolongo are among the roads that were barricaded by protesters.

Other roads were closed by police for security reasons.

They include Processional Way and State House Road.

All roads leading to the State House were also closed.

They include Dennis Pritt Road, State House Avenue, Valley Road, Jakaya Kikwete Road and adjacent feeder roads.

Parliament Road and Cit Hall Way were also out of bounds on Tuesday for both motorists and pedestrians.

The protests were triggered by the Finance Bill, which has sparked widespread controversy and opposition.

The bill was criticised for its potential economic impact forcing President William Ruto to withdraw it after a wave of protests.

But even so, the youths have sustained protests demanding that President Ruto initiate more reforms in his adminstration.
