Police are investigating a murder in an incident where an injured man was abandoned at a hospital in Mukuru slums, Nairobi.

The man died at the Lengo Hospital minutes after he had been left there with a stab wound in the chest on Tuesday, July 9 at midday, police said.

Officials at the facility told police the group rode to the facility with the unknown man and sought to have him treated for stab wounds he had in the chest.

The victim had a deep stab wound on the upper left side of the chest, police said.

He succumbed as the officials at the facility attended to him.

By then, the group, which had brought him had vanished.

The deceased was later identified as Samuel Baraka, 23, a resident of Kayaba slums.

Police said they are yet to know what transpired to lead to the fatal stab wounds.

Those who brought him to the facility are being sought for questioning, Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and probe.
