The family of late Siaya High Court presiding Judge Daniel Ogola Ogembo has set next week for his burial.

In a notice issued by the Judiciary, Ogembo will be laid to rest on Friday, August 2 at his Kakrao home in Migori county.

“A memorial service to celebrate his life has been planned for Monday, July 29 at SDA Lavington church in Nairobi,” it states.

Ogembo died July 17 at his residence in Siaya.

Reports indicate that he had worked for the better part of the day on July 16 before he retired home alone.

His driver dropped him at his residence but when he went to pick him up in the morning as usual, he realized he was not responding to calls and texts.

He was forced to seek help to access the house where the body was found, police said.

Police said the driver informed them he had complained he was not feeling well before he went to bed.

They waited for the family to arrive, access the scene and process it before removing it to the morgue.

Investigators are yet to make public the cause of his death.

Justice Ogembo was appointed Judge of the High Court in 2016.

He joined the judicial service as a Magistrate in 2004.

Since he was appointed a Judge, he has served at the Eldoret, Milimani and Siaya High Courts.

He was admitted to the Roll of Advocates, in 1993.
