Expect heavy rains in parts of Kenya on Tuesday, Wednesday

Some parts of the country are set to experience heavy rainfall on Tuesday and Wednesday, the Kenya Meteorological Department has said.

Areas in the North West, parts of the Rift Valley, and Western Kenya will experience heavy rainfall for the two days.

The weather department added that light to moderate rain should be expected in the Central Highlands, Lake Victoria Basin, North West and North East.

Kenya Met said the rest of the country will be generally dry.

In the next six days, the weatherman has predicted intermittent cold and cloudy conditions in parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, South-eastern lowlands, and Rift Valley.

The weatherman advised residing in the areas to keep warm.

"Stay warm!"

Kenya Met said rainfall is likely to continue over Central Highlands, Western Kenya, Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin, North-western and  North-eastern Kenya.

The rest of the country will be mostly dry.

Kenyans should expect low nighttime temperatures (below 10°C) in some parts of the Central Highlands, Rift Valley, and South-eastern lowlands.
