Suna East MP Junet Mohamed was full of praises for President William Ruto on Wednesday as the Head of State embarked on a development tour of the Nyanza region.

Junet, who was among the leaders accompanying Ruto, said the tranquillity being witnessed in the country currently will go a long way in ensuring all regions get the national cake equally.

“Sisi tunataka tushikane namna hii ile tufanye maendeleo, sisi tumebaki nyuma kimaendeleo...stima imefika juzi, barabara ndo inaanzishwa sai, mheshimiwa sisi tulikuwa tumedhani sisi ni waganda,” he said.

(We want to unite so that we can realise development; we have lagged. We just got electricity the other day, and the roads are being launched now. It had reached a point where we thought we were Bagandas)

Junet also thanked the president for unreservedly agreeing to support Raila Odinga in his AUC chairmanship post.

According to Junet, this was the way leading to God, and if the President continues doing so, he will earn more support from the people.

“Mheshimiwa rais, hiyo barabara umeshika sasa ukiendelea nayo namna hiyo inaenda kwa mungu. Endelea na hiyo barabara kabisa, imebarikiwa na ni barabara wananchi hapa wanapenda,” he said.

The head of state is expected to tour Homa Bay on Thursday, where he will attend the Thanksgiving ceremony for Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi.

On Friday, he will be in Siaya to launch some projects and later grace the homecoming of Energy CS Opiyon Wandayi.

He is set to wrap up his visit to the region in Kisumu.
