
The Social Health Authority (SHA) has announced a job vacancy for a Chief Executive Officer.
The CEO will be responsible for administering funds, developing strategies, and implementing policies to achieve the Authority’s objectives.
He or she will also represent the organization towards any high-level stakeholder engagements.
“To enhance institutional capacity and deliver on its mandate, SHA seeks to recruit a dynamic, exceptional, visionary, result-driven, and experienced professional for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), SHA Grade 1,” said a notice seen by the Star.
The CEO will also ensure prudent resource management at the authority where regarding the administration of funds, the CEO shall open and operate such bank accounts with approval from the Board and the National Treasury.
With the approval of the Board, enter into and sign contracts or agreements in furtherance of the objects of the Funds established under this Act
The Chief Executive Officer further shall, subject to the directions of the Board, be responsible for the day-to-day management of the affairs and staff of the Board and shall;
He or she will provide leadership to senior management and staff.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing accounting officers' functions, duties, and responsibilities as they prepare annual budgets and establish proper internal controls, among many other roles.
Requirements
Interested applicants must have a master’s degree from a recognized university in the country.
The applicants should be Kenyan citizens, well equipped with knowledge and experience in health insurance, health financing, health Economics, healthcare administration or any other relevant field of at least 10 years.
Additionally, the applicant should have served at a management level for at least five years and not have been convicted of an offence and not serving a term of imprisonment.
Applicants must also meet the requirements of Leadership and Integrity as outlined in the constitution.
The applicants should be competent in strategic and innovative thinking and have proven intellectual leadership in managing people and financial resources.
Furthermore, they should be excellent with interpersonal, management and communication skills, organizational skills and computer application
Shortlisted applicants shall, in addition to academic qualifications, bring the following certificates: a certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and a Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority.
Additionally, they should have a Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), a Clearance Certificate from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and a Report from a Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
