The UN has warned of panic and an 'even more hellish scenario' following Israel's fresh evacuation orders in Gaza.

Using social media and leaflet drops, Israel's military has ordered the evacuation of a fifth of Khan Younis, the main city in southern Gaza.

Aid groups say people are running out of places to flee. The number of displaced Gazans has almost doubled to 1.9 million in less than three weeks.

The Israeli military continue to push southwards, saying they are expanding ground operations to cover "all areas" of the Palestinian territory.

All internet and communications services are down across Gaza, the territory's main telecommunications firm says.

The Hamas attack on Israel on 7 October killed 1,200 people, with around 240 others taken hostage.
