How you dress is very crucial especially if it is for certain events with dress codes.

You don't want to look out of place and get judgmental looks. Here are some guidelines on how to dress up for different occasions.

1. Special occasions (birthdays or anniversaries)

One is expected to dress according to the formality of the event but that should not stop you from adding your personal touches or statement pieces to express your style.

But always remember to consider the venue and theme when selecting your outfit.

2. Casual gatherings( brunch, casual dinners)

On such occasions the mood is not too serious therefore you have the freedom to play around with different clothing from your wardrobe.

For example, during brunch or casual dinners, some girls prefer to dress more feminine like flowery dresses, skirts with slits to spice up an outfit or cardigans to paint them out to be dainty.

Men at most times opt to wear well-fitted jeans or baggy cargo jeans with a casual shirt or polo with a pair of sneakers or casual boots.

3. Outdoor activities

When choosing an outfit for outdoor activities both women and men should prioritise comfort and functionality but this should not be an excuse to not look fashionable.

Choose breathable fits and suck up moisture. Wear comfortable sneakers or hiking boots to avoid getting blisters

Also, consider if your outdoor activities are based in cold areas like mountains.

4. Business casual (Work Events, networking)

For business, it depends on the company you work for but in most cases, both men and women dress officially ( pant suits and skirt suits).

You can also dress up in a smart casual way for men it can be a suit with a turtle neck and sneakers or loafers while for women leg jeans, a blazer and heels can do the trick.

5. Formal events (weddings, galas)

On such occasions is where women love to shine the most. Here women usually opt to wear dresses or skirts that are on the glamorous side accompanied by minimalistic jewelry and a small bag.

Men on the other hand suit up either colour black or navy blue, pairing it with a dress shirt, a tie, leather dress shoes and matching accessories.

However, remember that these are general guidelines and it is essential to consider the specific dress code and cultural norms of the occasion and location you are attending.

Always aim to feel comfortable and confident in what you wear.
