How to make simple fluffy pancakes

Pancakes can be made with a variety of ingredients and flavours, making them perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

They are an easy fix and versatile in terms of taste.

To make fluffy pancakes you will need;

Ingredients

  •  All-purpose flour
  • 2-3 tablespoons of sugar,
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder,
  • 1 teaspoon of salt,
  • Vegetable oil and
  • Preferably an egg and a cup of milk.

Method

Step 1

Mix the dry ingredients first. In a bowl whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Step 2

In a separate bowl, whisk milk, oil, and egg(wet ingredients).

Step 3

Add dry ingredients into the wet mixture and whisk. Do not over-mix but only whisk until moistened.

Step 4

Place cooking pan over medium heat and moisten with oil.

Step 5

For each pancake, spoon 4-5 tablespoons of batter onto the pan and use the back of the spoon to spread the batter into a round.

Step 6

Cook until the underside turns a gorgeous shade of brown and the uncooked butter on top loses its wet sheen and becomes porous.

Step 7

Flip the pancakes carefully and cook until browned on the other side.

Serve immediately or keep warm in the oven.
