18 nominations for Kenya at AFRIMA 2015

KENYA has bagged a total of 18 nominations in the 2015 edition of the All Africa Music Awards (Afrima).

Boy band Sauti Sol was Kenya’s biggest nominee with four nods. The band was nominated for the Best African Group, Best Collaboration with Amos & Josh for the song Nerea and for Sura Yako as Song and Video of the Year.

Singers Jaguar and Suzanna Owiyo have been nominated for East Africa’s Best Male and Female Artistes respectively. Lulu & The Zakaleo Band received two nominations in Best Artiste in African Rock and Most Promising Artiste in Africa categories. Hip-hop artiste Juliani was also nominated twice as Best Male in Inspiration and Best Artiste in African Hip-Hop.

H_Art The Band also got two nominations (Most Promising Artiste and Revelation of the Year in Africa. Other Kenyan nominees were Makadem (Best Artiste in African Contemporary), Joy Gitau and Liron (Africa’s Best Artiste in R&B-Soul and Most Promising Artiste) and Victoria Kimani (Best African Collaboration for Strong Girl).

The gala ceremony will be held on November 15 in Lagos, Nigeria.
