Masters' Hockey tourney to be played in a round-robin format

Five teams will play in the two-day event.

The Masters' Hockey tournament at the Kisumu Day high school on April 1-2, will be held in a round-robin format according to the Kenya Hockey Union.

Five teams will play in the two-day event namely: Nakuru Masters, Blue Ocean Chiefs, Impala Veterans, Wazalendo Veterans and Kisumu Masters.

The tournament allows a maximum of 20 players, inclusive of two goalkeepers, to be entered but only 18 shall be used for any given match.

Teams will be ranked according to the number of points accumulated in the competition while a team can register not more than five ladies.

At least three women players must be playing on the field at any one time, failure to which the team must play less the equivalent number of lady players missing.

Rolling substitutions will take place as per the FIH rules after duly informing the Technical Official on duty.

Teams will be ranked according to the number of points accumulated in the competition. Head-to-head and goal differences will be looked at in case two or more teams tie on points for any place.

Match duration shall be advised by the Tournament Director during the TM’s briefing session on the first day of the tournament.
