Tough draws as school games head for national championships

In the fixtures released on Tuesday, St. Patrick's Iten headline Pool 'A'alongside Mangu, Ofafa Jericho and All Saints from Eastern.

A new rugby 15's champion will be crowned at the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association games in Eldoret later this month following the elimination of Kakamega High at the provincial level.

In the fixtures released on Tuesday, St. Patrick's Iten headline Pool 'A'alongside Mangu, Ofafa Jericho and All Saints from Eastern.

A supremacy battle in Pool 'B' will pit St Anthony Kitale, Coast champions Kwale, Nyanza champions Kisii and Western champions Butula in the 'group of death'.

National Sevens champions Koyonzo will miss the tournament after they were disqualified for fielding an ineligible player in the longer version of the game during the Western region championships. The top two teams in each pool qualify for the semifinals

Laiser Hill, Onjiko from Nyanza and Dr Aggrey High School are in the three-team Pool 'B'.

In the girls' category, Kaya Tiwi  from Coast take on Butere Girls and Ototo Secondary in Pool 'A' while Our Lady of Mercy, St Joseph's Kitale ,  Loreto Limuru and Clay  International School from Eastern complete the Pool 'B' line up.

In the boys' hockey, St Anthony Kitale are the front runners in Pool'A.' They face Maseno School, Meru School and Nairobi School while Kapsabet Boys, St Charles Lwanga, Mangu and Musingu will battle it out in Pool 'B'.

In the girl's category, St Joseph's Kitale settle scores with St. Charles Lwanga, former national champions Hillcrest and Nyamira Girls in Pool 'A'.

Afaraha Secondary, AIC Nyayo, Loreto Limuru and former champions Tigoi Girls compete in Pool 'B'.
