Trans Nzoia Falcons FC head coach Justin Okiring is the latest casualty in the long list of tacticians who have been forced to resign due to a poor run of results.

Okiring resigned from the club after suffering the third consecutive loss of the season against visiting Madira Assassins.

Okiring had initially complained of the financial challenges facing the club amid a boycott of matches by the senior players over pending last season's arrears.

The boycott by the seasoned players left him with no choice but to rely on newbies, who struggled against seasoned teams.

The tactician said the club has been struggling financially since last season, a move that led key players to boycott the matches.

"The club management is yet to clear the players' arrears from the 2022/2023 season," he revealed.

Okiring said poor support and remuneration of players have contributed immensely to the current mess at the club.

“Pressure from fans and the team management are the reasons why I have decided to quit. Truth be told; the squad I have now is not cut for the league while the key players are still away; demanding their pay,” Okiring said.

“So yesterday I had to surrender as the Coach let someone else take over and try his best,” he cited. The Falcons have lost their first three matches respectively since the season started.

Falcons went down 4-1 against Zetech Sparks at Ndura Stadium before being subjected to a similar 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Bunyore starlets. The last match was against Madira Soccer Assassins at Ndura Stadium and ended 5-0 in favour of the visitors.

Trans Nzoia have conceded 13 goals in three opening games of the Kenya Women Premier League season  2023/24 campaign.
