Champions Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and Kenya Pipeline are expected to highlight the second edition of the Eldoret City Volleyball tournament set for next month at the Eldoret National Polytechnic grounds.

KDF and Pipeline will be joining over 100 teams set to battle for the title when the tournament serves off from December 2-3.

The event will be preceded by the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) national league which will be held between November 30 to December 1 at the same venue.

The KVF’s deputy president, Paul Bitok, who also serves as the founder of the tournament, said this year's event has attracted many teams in the history of the event.

Bitok was speaking in Eldoret during the launch of the tournament.

“What makes this year's edition even more thrilling is the presence of international teams. So far, two teams from Uganda and one from Tanzania have confirmed participation,” said Btok.

Bitok noted that they were still in talks with a team from Ethiopia and Rwanda to grace the event.

“We expect over 100 teams to grace the occasion. We have greatly improved from last year's edition,” said Bitok, who admitted that even the then-Amaco International volleyball tournament can not match this year’s event.

During the launch at the Uasin Gishu County headquarters in Eldoret, the host governor Jonathan Bii assured the organisers of his support.

"My administration will work with you to ensure we have a successful second edition of the tournament."
