We have what is takes to avoid the axe, says Shabana's Pamzo

Shabana are second from bottom of the 18-team log.

In Summary

• Currently sitting second from the bottom of the 18-team log, Shabana managed to reignite their survival hopes with two back-to-back wins over Posta Rangers and Muhoroni Youth.

• Another victory in their bumpy ride could safely hoist them into the 16th spot where they will stand a chance to lock horns with a third-placed National Super League side in the two-legged promotion/relegation playoffs.

Shabana FC head coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omolo is convinced the Glamour Boys can dodge relegation despite their precarious position on the Kenyan Premier League log.

Popularly referred to as Tore Bore by their dotting and adoring fans, Shabana have endured a torrid campaign this season suffering 14 agonising defeats in 26 encounters.

Shabana are second from bottom of the 18-team log.

However, Shabana have reignited their survival hopes with back-to-back wins over Posta Rangers and Muhoroni Youth.

Another victory in their bumpy ride could hoist them to 16th, where they could lock horns with the third-placed National Super League side in a two-legged promotion/relegation playoffs.

Already envisioning the probability of such a scenario, Omollo has vowed to unleash all his arsenals to salvage his charges from the ruthless jaws of relegation noting they have a noble duty to appease their passionate and loyal fanbase.

"I firmly believe we shall maintain our top-flight status. We have what it takes to get things done,"  Omollo remarked.

"Like Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards we enjoy a huge following and the best gift we can offer them this season is to maintain our status in the Kenyan Premier League."

Omollo, who took over the reins at the Kisii-based club in February, said the two consecutive wins have uplifted their spirits after a gloomy spell occasioned by a string of heavy defeats.

"Everyone appears confident following the two wins and that is very crucial for us at this stage of the competition. We must fight tooth and nail to win the remaining games and avoid being demoted at the end of the season," Omollo stated.

"We are taking one match at a time and treating each encounter as a final. We can't afford to rest on our laurels," he concluded.
