The Kenya Handball Federation national champions National Cereals and Produce Board and Nairobi Water Queens must shake off KDF teams to retain their titles when the season ends this weekend.

NCPB and KDF are unbeaten in the 25-team league. They are joint top of the standings with 45 points. The matches start at 1 pm.

They are already in the Super Cup fixtures where they will be joined by  Equity Bank, General Service (GSU), Strathmore University and Black Mamba.

Water Queens and Ulinzi Sharks will be joined by NCPB and Bungoma-based Rangers in the women’s competition.

“The teams will have a two week break before they embark on the Cup competition. The rest of the teams will start the new season in late July or early August,” said KHF fixtures coordinator George Asimeto.

He said they had a tough season, interrupted by challenging weather, international competitions and university games.

“It was tough but we coped up well. I am happy it will end this weekend,” he said.

KHF Technical Director Charles had earlier mooted two-legged fixtures (home and away). Third-placed NCPB face Mountain Queens, who are eighth.
