Kenyan Motocross instructors and coaches will benefit from a training programme conducted by MX trainer Andre Dearden this weekend.

The three-day training started on Friday at the Jamhuri MX track along Ngong’ Road.

This visit is facilitated by the Women in Motorcycling Commission of FIM Africa and the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM).

The programme focuses on enhancing training and skill development of women in the sport, as trainers and riders.

Upon completion of the course, the instructors are expected to amplify nurturing and developing new talent from grassroots level.

The programme is open to all qualified trainers with a bias on women.

Meanwhile, Dearden, credited with training some of the most successful riders in Africa, will train Team Kenya MX riders as they prepare for the MX of African Nations in Morocco in October.

Once done at Jamhuri, Dearden will travel to Uganda on a similar mission.

The event follows last month’s training in which Kenya hosted the MXGP Academy for the first time on the weekend of August 2-4.

The MXGP Academy is a worldwide project started 2015 in collaboration with MTC (the Motocross Training Club), the FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme) and the local FMNs (national motorsport federations) – including the Motorcycle Sports Federation of Kenya.
