Experienced outside hitter Noel Murambi and opposite attacker Violet Makuto, are back at Pipeline following their professional stints in Cyprus and the UAE respectively.

“The invaluable experience I gained during my professional career will be key as I aim to help Pipeline win the league title,” Murambi remarked.

Additionally, Pipeline have added outside hitter Mariam Musa and middle blocker Marian Sokoiyo from league champions KCB.

Team captain Gladys Ekaru and assistant captain Celestine Nyongesa, both fresh from maternity leave, will lead the squad into the new season.

Ekaru takes over from Rose Magoi, who has retired, while Nyongesa steps in for Pamela Adhiambo, who has moved to Finland.

With an array of seasoned and new talent, Pipeline will be aiming to reclaim the national title they last won in 2022 and improve their performance in next year’s Africa Club Championships.

The changes in the squad coincide with the appointment of the new Kenya Pipeline head coach Geoffrey Omondi.

Omondi believes he has what it takes to spearhead the club to a new level as they prepare for the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) National League season. The KVF season begins on October 31 at Kamukunji grounds, Nyeri County.

Omondi steps into the new role after leading the Trailblazers men’s volleyball team to playoffs— one year after the club’s formation. He also served as the national men's Under-18 assistant coach.

“Pipeline are a great club with a rich history, and I’m ready to help them attain their goals. The club has quality and seasoned players who will be instrumental in building a formidable team,” Omondi said.

However, the coach feels it’s time to move on. “I’m proud of what I achieved with Trailblazers, but the foundation we’ve laid will help them continue chasing their dream of winning the men’s title.”

At Pipeline, Omondi inherits a team that last won the KVF league title in 2022 and finished third in the Africa Club Championships this year.

Joining him on the technical bench are former Kenyan international Esther Jepkosgei, Nicodemus Kiama and Eric Ogola.

Jepkosgei, who had served as interim coach since Paul Gitau's exit, will revert to her assistant coach position.
