Yego inspires young javelin sensation Anyango ahead of games

Reigning Africa Under-20 javelin bronze medalist Caroline Anyango is happy to work with former world champion and Olympic silver medallist, Julius Yego ahead of the Youth Commonwealth Games next month in Trinidad and Tobago.

In an interview, the youngster said she has improved tremendously since she started working with Yego.

"Since I started working with Yego, I have shown remarkable progress in my throws. He has actually lifted me from 42 meters to 48 meters," said an ever-smiling Anyango.

Anyango's dedication and determination have been fueled by the inspiration from Yego. During her training sessions, Yego has shared invaluable tips and techniques, igniting Anyango's passion for the sport even further.

"I am incredibly honoured to have the opportunity to learn from someone as accomplished as  Yego. His guidance and mentorship have been instrumental in refining my skills and honing my technique," Anyango said. 

Following her remarkable performance at the Africa Junior Championships in Lusaka, Zambia earlier in the year, Anyango said she is gearing up for her next challenge of winning another international medal.

With her sights set on the Commonwealth Youth Games, Anyango aspires to improve on her previous performance and etch her name in the annals of sporting history.

The youngster dreams of one day breaking a world record, a feat that seems more attainable with her boundless potential and the expert guidance of her mentor.  The Commonwealth Youth Games are set to take place in Trinidad and Tobago from August 4-11.
