Braeburn School dominate national short course aquatic swimming championship

The top performers for Braeburn included Annabelle Croucher ,Victor Oketch,Audrey Chebet,and Adam Mensah.

In Summary

•They bagged both the boys and girls category with the boys winning 28 gold 16 silver and seven bronze medals for a total haul of 51 medals.

•Eldoret based Torpedo took third position with six gold four silver and four bronze medals

Braeburn School dominated the Kenya National Aquatic short course championship held at the Mpesa Academy in Thika

They bagged both the boys and girls category with the boys winning 28 gold 16 silver and seven bronze medals for a total haul of 51 medals.

The girls were equally dominant winning 21 gold,  eight silver, and 10 bronze medals in the two day championship. coach Mary Njogu was full of praise for her charges "Credit to the team they trained and worked the competition was stiff across all age categories and am delighted we can only get better in the subsequent events

Njogu believed her charges can get better in future competitions.' I believe the talent and the depth of the swimmers we have we can improve on" observed Njogu

Torpedos Swim club from Uganda were placed second in the boys category with 12 gold,  five silver and three bronze medals.

Otters swim club completed the podium positions with 10 gold,  seven silver and three bronze medals. 

In the girls category Otters Swim Club were placed second with seven gold 6 silver and  3 bronze

Eldoret based Torpedo took third position with six gold,  four silver and four bronze medals

Executive member Heinz Kahindo said the federation is preparing for the for the local long course championship next month which will feature teams from Sudan,Tanzania,Uganda and Rwanda

Additionally, the federation has organized swimming sensitization and coaching clinics across the country, starting with an event in Mombasa in early September.

This weekend's championship not only showcased Kenya's swimming talent but also underscored the potential for regional partnerships to enhance the sport's development.
