Equity Bank Hawks still has a lot to do despite a 67-55 win over United States International University USIU 67-55 in a women’s Kenya National Basketball league match at Nyayo Stadium, said coach Ben Oluoch.

Hawks flew to a 40-26 halftime lead but Oluoch wants more.

“I am happy with the progress so far. But there is still work to be done,” said Oluoch.

Maryanne Nyagaki led the bankers with 18 points, including the team’s last eight. Melissa Akinyi had 16 and Betty Kananu added 12.

“Nyagaki has been having good contributions. Africa Nazarene University (ANU) Panthers mauled Strathmore University Swords 45-40 after trailing 26-18 at the breather.

On Friday night, Ulinzi suffered a 75-55 loss at the hands of unbeaten league leaders Nairobi City Thunder. Griffin Ligare shot 18 points.

Job Byron scored 16 points as champions Kenya Ports Authority stopped Equity Bank Dumas 68-59.
