National women champions Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) beat Strathmore University Swords 61-54 in a playoff semi-finals Game Two at Nyayo Stadium gymnasium.

The porters, who took Game One with a 63-48 difference the previous day, again found the students a hard nut to crack.

KPA led by a close 17-15 in the first quarter before pulling away 24-13 in the second for a 41-28 advantage.

In the last half, the champions were down 18-11 in the third before recovering 9-8 in the deciding stanza to carry the day. Grace Irebu led KPA with 19 points while Vilma Owino shot 11.

In the lower division, the Snipers beat Moi Air Base (MAB) 2-0 after an 82-53 win. They had won Game One 48-38 in this all-forces clash.

National Bank of Kenya (NBK) Phoenix did well to lock the series 1-1 with a well-taken 82-53 win. They had lost 71-61.
