Snipers are only one step away from the Kenya National Basketball League Premier League and coach William Ochieng is convinced his charges will make it to the top.

They play their KDF brothers Moi Air Base (MAB) in the playoff semi-final Game Three fixture on Saturday at the Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium at 3 pm.

"We have worked hard for this. But it's still not finished yet. We know we are only a game away from the top tier and we will give it our all " Ochieng said after the team's morning training on Thursday.

"We are one game away from making it to the top tier and we are focused. We know what lies ahead and for us to achieve it, we must remain focused," Ochieng.

Snipers opened fire on MAB, gunning them down 82-53 in Game Two. They also did enough to take Game One with a 48-38 result in another exciting all-forces clash.

The Snipers' scoring load to success will be carried by Simon Rapudo, Ryan Kirui, Chris Warutere, Isaac Kitongo and Christopher Okwiri.

“The focus is to play with the big boys in the Premier League.  We've worked for it and it's time to reap what we sow,” said Snipers coach William Otieno.

Ochieng's said will go all out to finish the series on a 3-0 sweep.  He is targeting a top-six finish in his first year at the top and intends to beef up the playing personnel should they leap into the premier league next season.

"If we qualify for the Premier League, we will inject some new blood mainly from our inter brigades meetings into the team," he noted

"We have put a lot of effort into our training for two years now. This was our target and we are on course. So far so good."

Ochieng rise to the top has all been hard work and he says he has benefited from his interactions with top coaches like Ronny Owino, Anthony Ojukwu, Ancette Wafula and Ben Oluoch

"I've always reached out to them for advice and this has been very helpful in building this team. I will continue doing this to make the team better."

The soldiers finished second to league leaders Stanbic Shields with 38 points having won 16 out of their 22 matches. The bankers were top with 40 points.

Other than this all-forces duel, the other semis match-up will pit Stanbic Shields against National Bank of Kenya (NBK) Phoenix. The series is deadlocked 1-1.

The Division Two playoff matches will also be on the card as Nakuru-based Cabals Elitists will be in the city to play Moischers. The series is also tied 1-1.

The women's matches will see Safe Spaces play Zetech University while Stanbic Aces confront national school champions Butere Girls. Both teams are locked 1-1 as well.
