Salah, Hakimi and Osimhen face off in Caf Awards 2023

Three African players plying trade in different European Leagues will battle it out for the 2023 African Player of the Year Award set to be announced on December 11.

Widely regarded as one of the best players of his generation and one of the greatest African players of all time, Salah is known for his clinical finishing, dribbling, and speed.

Salah who has 10 Premier League goals so far, managed 19 goals last season in the Premier League and 32 in all competitions.

In the league, he finished fourth behind Golden Boot winner Erling Haaland who bagged 35 goals. English pair Harry Kane and Ivan Toney scored 27 and 20 goals respectively.

The pacy attacker is also Liverpool's all-time EPL top-scorer after surpassing Robbie Fowler's tally of 128 goals in March. 

Hakimi, donning the PSG colours, has been a revelation in the French League and is considered one of the best right-backs in the world.

The Moroccan was a fixture in his country's romp to the semifinals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The former Real Madrid and Inter Milan defender possesses an attacking threat with his marauding runs and goal-scoring exploits. He was a mainstay as PSG won the Ligue 1 title in May.

He scored the winning penalty with a panenka-style shot in a shoot-0ut  against Spain in the World Cup round of 16, securing a place for his country in the quarter-finals.

Nigerian Osimhen won the Golden Boot award in the Italian Serie A in May after finding the back of the net 26 times. His goals also saw Napoli win the title for the first time in 33 years.

The Awards Gala will take place at the Palais des Congrès, Movenpick, Marrakech, Morocco.
