Bandari mourns the passing of former CEO Hajj Masemo

Football Kenya Federation Premier League side Bandari FC have confirmed the death of their former Chief Executive Officer Hajj Masemo.

Masemo passed on January 1, 2024, while undergoing treatment in a Mombasa hospital.

"It is with deep sorrow that Bandari FC announces the passing of our former CEO, Hajj Masemo. Hajj breathed his last this afternoon (January 1) at Pandya Hospital in Mombasa, where he had been undergoing treatment for medical complications," Bandari said in a statement.

"Hajj Masemo, who also served as the Principal Communications Officer at the Kenya Ports Authority, had been a dedicated figure in the football community. His contributions to Bandari FC and the broader sports landscape have left an indelible mark."

The statement added, "Masemo's body will be transported to Msambweni, Kidzumbani, village, where his final resting place will be. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the entire football community. Bandari FC is grateful for the legacy he leaves behind, and we honor his memory during this difficult time."

The coastal side is sixth in the league after accruing 26 points from 16 matches in the 18-team league.
