Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba has called on the corporate world to partner with various sporting federations and events to ensure Kenya maintains high standards in the sporting space.

Ababu said his ministry is keen on attracting investments and forging transformational partnerships both domestically and globally to steer sports in the country to the next level.

Ababu called on corporate entities to take advantage of the success stories of Kenyan sportsmen and women to grow their businesses and markets while capitalising on the incredible platform that sports offer.

He also asked the corporates to perceive sport as an entity that is beneficial to the public who they do business with. He underscored immeasurable value for corporates who identify with sport.

“We want you to look at sports in the context of shared prosperity. There is no doubt the number of eyeballs that sporting platforms present is quite incredible,” the CS added.

Ababu remarked that 2024 will go down in history as one of the busiest seasons with preparations for the Paris Olympics, the belated All Africa Games, Magical Kenya Open and LET Ladies Open golf already in top gear. “As a government, we help the corporate companies achieve considerable market share through sports partnerships.”

He wants corporate companies to capitalise on tax breaks and incentives. “It’s not only just about asking for money, but to offer you an enabling environment to do business,” quipped Ababu.

He appreciated Safaricom, KCB Bank, SportPesa and Cfao Motors among others for their continued support of the Kenyan sporting ecosystem.
