The Football Kenya Federation Premier League enters the final leg on Sunday with nine matches on the card.

While record champions Gor Mahia, who face Bidco United, will be celebrating their record-extending 21st KPL title, during their official coronation, three sides will fiercely engage in a relegation dogfight.

Shabana FC who returned to the league after 17 years hiatus, are 15th on the log with 35 points and safe from automatic relegation.

Whatever result they get against debutants Muranga Seal on Match Day 34, the worst can only be to drop to the playoff spot (position 16).

However, a point against Seal, who beat them 1-0 in the season opener, will guarantee their safety.

"We had a great game in our 3-0 win over Bidco United last weekend at the back of a 4-3 victory over AFC Leopards and we are doing everything to ensure that we remain in KPL. I urge our fans to remain firmly behind the team," said Shabana head coach Sammy 'Pamzo' Omolo

Pamzo, who replaced Sammy Okoth, in the second leg while bottom of the table, has a rich CV that includes winning the league with Tusker in 2011 and taking Gor to the Confederation Cup in 2021.

Sofapaka are 16th on the log with 33 points after their 1-1 draw with City Stars last week and they need maximum points against relegated Nzoia Sugar to survive

Batoto Ba Mungu who won the title in their maiden season in 1999, have been in the relegation fight for the last three consecutive seasons and managed to hang on the top tier.

Sofapaka head coach Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno admitted his players did not utilize their chances last weekend against City Stars despite dominating the match.

“We are now in a must-win situation and I believe my boyz will score goals and grab the much-needed victory against Nzoia Sugar," Said Zico

Sofapaka will also be hoping that Shabana FC lose so that they can be safe automatically with victory over unpredictable sugar men.

Meanwhile, another relegation candidate Muhoroni Youth will play Posta Rangers in their backyard.  The sugar millers are 17th on the log with 31 points and the best they can achieve is a playoff spot.  Muhoroni Youth beat Nzoia Sugar 6-0 last weekend.
