Kenya Premier League champions Gor Mahia have set their Annual General Meeting on September 7, 2024.

The notice was issued on Wednesday evening by the club secretary general Samuel Ochola and also posted on their official social media handles.

Top on the agenda will be discussion and potential adoption of a motion to convert the club into a Public Liability Company, confirming the previous AGM and discussing matters arising.

Receiving and adopting the chairman's report and also setting up dates for the elections for the members of the Executive Committee and members of the board of trustees.

Approval of converting the club into a Public Liability Company could see Gor be listed on the stock exchange, and also sell shares to the public and attract investors.

“Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of Gor Mahia Football Club, year 2024 will be held on September 7, 2024, at 10 am. The venue and time of the meeting will be communicated to the members in due course," the notice reads in part.

According to the notice, only members who are registered and paid up via Bank of Africa paybill no 972900-account number 01014080008 account named Gor Mahia as of August 31, 2024, will be allowed to attend the AGM and participate in the deliberations.

The notice is given pursuant to Article 16(1) (b) of the constitution of the club, 2019 concluded, the letter.

While several candidates have already announced their interest in elective posts, chairman Ambrose Rachier who has been at the helm of the club since 2008 had hinted of not defending his seat.

However, the most successful club chairman in Kenya who has seen KO’gallo grab nine KPL titles in the last 12 years may still stay on board, as outlined in the 2019 constitution.

"Article XI of the constitution of Gor Mahia 2019 provides that elections shall be held every four years with a reelection of one term only,"

"This new constitution was adopted to comply with the Sports Act 2013 and became effective when Gor filed it with the Sports Registrar on July 7, 2020."

This means that the officials who were elected under the 2020 constitution are now completing their first term and are eligible for reelection.
