National boys football runners-up Musingu High School have received a massive boost from KCB ahead of the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) competition starting Monday in Mbale, Uganda.

Musingu High, also known as Scorpions, received training equipment and a new kit from the bank as they prepared for the upcoming matches.

The team has been drawn in Pool B alongside St. Julian High (Uganda), Amus College School (Uganda), APE Rugunga (Burundi) and Kalangala Secondary (Tanzania).

Speaking during a training session at the Musingu High School coach Brendan Mwinamo said: “The boys are ready for the East Africa games. We have been training in hot conditions to build stamina ahead of the gruelling tourney. We have also worked on our weaknesses in the offensive and defensive units and I believe we will have a good outing in Uganda.”

The team is expected to depart for Uganda today after a 10-day camp at the school. The rest of the Kenyan teams heading to Mbale games have also been camping at Musingu High in preparation for the week-long tourney.

KCB, a regional powerhouse in the sports sponsorship arena, has injected over Sh1.5 million in payment of fees for the student footballers at Musingu High School. Additionally, the bank has invested in football equipment and jerseys for the team since partnering a year ago.

“We are grateful to KCB for giving back to the community by supporting vulnerable students from humble backgrounds to facilitate their education.

"This partnership underscores the value of sports and education in nurturing talent and progressing academic excellence. We look forward to the team’s success in Uganda,” noted Chief Principal of Musingu High School, Bernard Lukuya.

Apart from football, there will also be action in basketball (3X3 and normal basketball), netball, Rugby (7’s and 15’s), handball, athletics, swimming, tennis, volleyball, table tennis and badminton.
