National champions Highway begin their 21st edition of the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association campaign on Monday when they take on defending champions St Mary’s Kitende.

Highway are eager to replicate their 2022 heroics when they beat the regional powerhouses in the semifinals before falling 1-0 to Kibuli Secondary Schools in Arusha, Tanzania.

Highway had beaten Kibuli 1-0 in the preliminaries.

Musingu High School, under the tutelage of Brendan Mwinamo, face a Herculean task against locals, Amus College.

In girls’ football, Kenyan champions Butere Girls are up against Amus College while Nyakach Girls battle St Joseph’s Kitale in a Kenyan derby.

In boys’ volleyball, to be played at Mbale Cricket Grounds, champions Namwela start their title defence against Ugandans Bukedea Comprehensive School.

At the same time, Cheptil will battle it out with another Ugandan opponent, Namugongo Secondary.

Hospital Hill meet Hilton Secondary as Kenya’s other representatives, Kiaguthu, face an acid test against Tabora Boys from Tanzania.

In the girls’ category, African champions Kwanthanze will cross paths with GS St Alloys from Rwanda as former national champions, Kesogon, tackle Bukedea.

In the boys’ 5x5 basketball, to be played at Amus College, Agoro Sare get the action underway against the hosts while national champions Dr. Aggret battle Buddo Secondary. Laiser Hill take on Janan School.

In the girls’ category, national champions Butere Girls start hunting for the regional title against St Noah Girls from Uganda while Buruburu Girls collide with Nabisunda Girls, also from Uganda.

In boys' handball at Bukedea, Innocent Siro’s Kimilili High renew their rivalry with Saniak Secondary in a Kenyan derby.

In the girls’ category, Moi Girls Kamusinga battle Kibuli as Murinduko face Gombe Secondary. Kwanthanze go head-to-head with Mbogo High School.
