All Saints Embu storm FEASSA rugby 15s final

National champions All Saints Embu stormed the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association rugby 15s final after a 26-17 win over Makerere College at Mbale Rugby Union grounds in Mbale, Uganda.

All Saints will play defending champions St Mary’s Kisubi in the final on Sunday. St Mary’s Kisubi humbled Kenya’s other representatives, Kitondo School, 40-03.

The final is a repeat of a group-stage match where All Saints won 24-23.

In rugby 7s St Mary’s School Yala got their campaign back on track after edging London School 29-0 to qualify for the semifinals, where they will renew rivalry with Vihiga Boys while Friends School Bwake tackle Uganda’s Jinja Secondary School.

Boys’ hockey enters the semifinals with Musingu High renewing rivalry with St Anthony’s Kitale Boys in an all-Kenyan affair while St Charles Lwanga will face Uganda’s Ntare School on Saturday at Mbale School of Hygiene.

St Charles Lwanga finished with six points same as St. Anthony’s Kitale but the Saints had a better goal difference.

In the girls’ category, defending champions Nyamira Girls remains in the driving seat after four games. They have nine points after three wins and one loss.

On Friday, Nyamira walloped Bweranyangi 5-0. Tigoi, who battled to a 2-2 draw with St Joseph’s Kitale Girls, are second with eight points.

St Joseph’s are third with seven. The girls’ competition is being played in a round robin format. Nyamira face Uganda’s Mushanga on Saturday while St Joseph’s will collide Namagunga.

In boys’ football, Musingu High, coached by Brendan Mwinamo, stormed the semifinals after a comfortable 2-0 win over Rwanda’s APE Rugunga from Rwanda at Nakaloke grounds. St Joseph’s Kitale also sailed to the semifinals after a 3-0 win over national champions Highway Secondary School.

In boys’ basketball 5x5, Agoro Sare threw away a six points lead with 40 seconds to lose 66-65 to Uganda’s Watoto. Agoro Sare are staring at elimination after two losses and one win.

Kenya’s other representatives, Laiser Hill, is on the verge of qualifying for the semis after overcoming Tanzania’s Juhudi 66-46.

National defending champions Dr Aggrey have been eliminated after losing all their four games.
