Midfielder Yidah returns to Nairobi City Stars

Defensive midfielder Sven Yidah has returned to FKF Premier League side Nairobi City Stars after two seasons out.

As a free agent, Sven rejoins the Nairobi City Stars for the upcoming season.

“I am happy to return home after a few seasons out. I have found several changes from the squad I left behind and my immediate task is to blend in with the new team. Together, I look forward to a brilliant season,” said Yidah.

City Stars head coach Nicholas Muyoti is elated with Yidah’s return and said: “City Stars are delighted to have Sven back. He left our stable on a good note for greener pastures and he is welcome back home.”

Muyoti added: “He brings experience, leadership and punch to our midfield. We believe that he and the team will have a good season.”

Yidah arrived at Simba wa Nairobi at the beginning of the 2020/21 season from Kariobangi Sharks. He left after two seasons to join South Africa Premiership side, Marumo Gallants.

At the same time, Shabana continued to bolster their squad following the signing of striker Dennis Okoth, 20, from Tusker Youth and sensational 17-year-old striker Austine Odongo from 2022 national secondary schools football champions Ebwali Secondary School.

Odongo was the top scorer at the 2024 Costa Daurada Cup in Barcelona Spain, where he notched three goals.

Club Secretary General, Elizaphan Kerama, confirmed the signings on the last day of the transfer window. The club has so far signed 10 players
