KCB FC’s newly signed striker, Francis Kahiro, is confident of making a strong impact as he returns to the squad for the 2024/2025 Kenya Premier League season.

Kahiro left the bankers for Bandari mid-season in the January 20224 transfer window this year.

“I’m ready for the challenge after half a season in Mombasa. The league is tough, but I’m hoping to score and assist KCB attain their goals,” Kahiro said.

“It feels nostalgic to be back. I know the environment, some of the players and the culture here. I’m optimistic we’ll have a great season,” the striker added.

KCB have brought in six more new signings to strengthen the squad. Goalkeeper Bonphas Munyasa joins from Murang’a Seal, defender Lameck Oloo(Bidco United), midfielder Mathew Agal (Nairobi United) midfielder Dennis Maruti (Murang’a Seal),  wingers James Kinyanjui and Patrick Otieno (Posta Rangers).

The bankers opened their league campaign with a barren draw against Kariobangi Sharks. They resume action on September 15 away to Murang’a Seal.

In readiness for the return of league play, KCB have posted mixed results in friendly matches, including a goalless draw with Dimba Patriot and a 4-2 win over Nairobi United last week.

“Our aim this season is to win the Kenya Premier League title,” newly signed head coach Patrick Odhiambo stated.

“To achieve this, we need depth in the squad, and that’s why we’ve worked hard in the transfer market to bring in quality players,” he concluded.

The bankers endured a challenging league campaign last season, finishing in a disappointing 10th place, though they made it to the FKF Cup final, where they fell to Kenya Police FC on penalties.
