Kariobangi Sharks head coach William Muluya was over the moon after guiding his charges to a resounding 3-0 victory over Murang'a Seal at Dandora Stadium on Sunday.

Ally Salum opened the floodgates with a scintillating effort on the half-hour mark. Keith Imbali and Andreas Odhiambo then contributed to Seal's slaughter with quickfire goals in the 71st and 78th minutes respectively.

The outcome leaves Sharks second on the log with seven points, having kicked off their campaign with a barren draw against KCB before wringing out a hard-fought 3-2 win over Tusker a week ago.

Muluya believes his charges possess the mojo to assert authority in the competition this season, but warns them not to rest on their laurels.

“The performance attests to the form we currently enjoy and wish to extend it to subsequent games," Muluya said.

Sharks, known to enthral the stands with a splendid display of crisp passes, took the battle right to the doorstep of their opponents, making several inroads before their resilience bore fruits.

Muluya lauded his squad for displaying great character in the exciting encounter that witnessed a flurry of missed chances on both ends of the interval.

“We played well in this match and each player gave a good account of himself. Of course, we had to introduce some fresh legs to inject some zest into our performance but that does not mean those we introduced were any better than those they replaced," he added.

As Muluya celebrated his victory, his crestfallen opposite number Juma Abdalla rued the glaring chances his charges failed to bury in the encounter.

“We can only blame ourselves for soaking in three goals and failing to convert. I think we had everything in place, built the play well from behind only to squander opportunities that we could have easily converted with more composure in front of goal," he said.

Elsewhere, Tusker squandered a two-goal advantage to play out a draw against Kakamega Homeboyz at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.

Ryan Ogam fired the Ruaraka-based brewers ahead in the 14th minute after latching onto Shaphan Oyugi's pass. The former Rainbow FC striker returned to haunt Homeboyz with another splendid goal in the 28th minute.

Unfazed, Homeboyz fought back gallantly to restore parity with Harun Otieno and Pius Wangi netting in the 43rd and 54th minutes respectively.

Ulinzi Stars and Shabana settled for a two-all draw at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.
