Over 120 golfers will hit the fairways at the nine-hole par 72 Nanyuki Sports Club when the 12th leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour goes down on Saturday.

Set against the backdrop of Mount Kenya, the tournament will begin with a 6:30 am tee-off and another at 12:30 pm, as players battle for points towards the grand finale on December 6.

Two top teams from Nanyuki will secure spots in the finale, joining those from Nairobi, Nakuru and Uasin Gishu. The winners will take home Sh1 million and a chance to participate in the 2025 Magical Kenya Ladies Open Pro-AM at Vipingo Ridge.

Club captain Anthony Rukwaro said the course is in good condition.

“The course is in pristine condition and our wide fairways offer a great challenge for golfers. Our state-of-the-art facilities and warm reception ensure participants will not only enjoy their game but also the scenic beauty of Mt. Kenya,” he said.

Rosalind Gichuru, the KCB director of marketing and communications, emphasised the bank’s continued support for the sport.

She said: “KCB has been at the forefront of championing the growth of golf. Our interaction with golfers from Mt. Kenya at Nanyuki Golf Course further strengthens our commitment to elevate this game from the grassroots level.”

KCB have held two caddie tournaments in Nakuru and Mombasa with more planned as part of the ongoing tour.

Over 1,500 participants, including 500 juniors, have featured in the series.

There will be a tree-planting exercise in Nanyuki with Sunday concluding with a junior clinic.
