Kabras coach Felix Ayange has termed the Prinsloo Sevens as tricky for his charges.

The sugar millers, who won the Driftwood Sevens earlier this month, face neighbours Western Bulls, Homeboyz and Kisumu in Pool 'A'.

"It's a tricky pool and we expect the teams to come hard at us. However, we believe the momentum from winning in Mombasa will help us in Nakuru and enable us to continue with the upward trajectory," noted Ayange.

“We will take one game at a time. The nature of Sevens is unpredictable and so we will not underestimate any of the teams in the pool,” observed Ayange.

The Sevens circuit took a break for the World Under-20 Trophy but the former international termed the rest as key with the tournaments coming in quick succession.

"We took a one-week break for the players to freshen up and resumed training a fortnight ago. The boys are raring to go and we will see what happens for the remainder of the series,” added Ayange.

Menengai Oilers headline Pool 'B' where they face Nondies cross-town rivals Nakuru and Catholic Monks.

Head coach Gibson Weru termed the pool tough, especially with the derby clash against Nakuru and the fast-improving Nondies.

“We will have to be at our best from the first match. We have been hard at work in the last fortnight and this being a home tournament, we want to do well for our fans,” observed Weru.

Log leaders KCB have a date with Quins, Masinde Muliro University, and Blak Blad in Pool C with coach Andrew Amonde insisting on a better performance than in Mombasa, where they were eliminated in the semis.

“We want to bounce back in Nakuru. I believe we have the players who can go all the way and win the tournament," said Amonde. Strathmore Leos take on Mwamba, Daystar Falcons and Zetech Oaks in Pool D.

The top two teams from each pool qualify for the quarterfinals with the third and fourth-placed teams dropping to the classification matches on Sunday.
